BrewDog was founded in 2007 by Martin Dickie and James Watt, aiming to challenge traditional beer brewing and offer unique craft beers. Through the ‘Equity for Punks’ crowdfunding project, the company gained private investors and expanded its reach globally.

The Gin:

BrewDog’s LoneWolf Gin, produced since 2016, features strong juniper from Tuscany, zesty grapefruit, and spicy lavender. Scottish pine needles give it a unique character, complemented by botanicals like lemon peel, coriander seed, cardamom, and more. Other gin offerings include LoneWolf Cloudy Lemon, Peach & Passion Fruit Gin, and Cactus & Lime Gin, each with their own distinct flavors.

The Rum:

In addition to gin, BrewDog’s distillery produces 500 Cuts Rum. Imported Caribbean molasses are used for fermentation, and the rum is double distilled in copper stills. The Spiced Rums are infused with various botanicals and flavors. The Coconut & Vanilla Rum includes tonka bean, clove, and roasted coconut, while the Pineapple & Mango Rum incorporates muscovado sugar, pineapple, mango, and lime. The Spiced Rum features ripe figs and a hint of cola.

The Production:

BrewDog prioritizes sustainability, utilizing renewable energies and electric delivery vehicles. They have become the first brewery in the world to produce CO2-negatively since 2020. To conserve water resources, a planned anaerobic digestion plant will convert brewery wastewater into purified water and biomethane.

The Stills:

BrewDog’s distillery in Ellon features a 19-meter-high rectification column still for producing the base spirit of LoneWolf Gin. They also use a 50-liter pilot still for experimentation and development.
