The Production:

After the maceration, each botanical is distilled separately, ensuring that the individual characteristics and nuances of the ingredients are retained. History:

The Giró family has a long and storied history in the world of spirits, with a lineage dating back to 1835 when they began producing liqueurs. Located in the renowned wine region of Penedés, Catalonia, the family was also involved in the wine trade. Later, in the late 19th century, they expanded their expertise to include the distillation of brandy and whisky.

The idea to create a gin came to Manuel Giró Senior during the tumultuous period of the Spanish Civil War. While seeking refuge in the mountains, he discovered abundant juniper bushes, which sparked his interest in gin production. In 1940, the family introduced Gin MG to the market, marking their venture into the gin industry.

As time passed, the distilling business was passed down through generations, and the reins are now held by Marc and Manuel Giró Junior, the grandsons of Manuel Senior. These young entrepreneurs wanted to contribute their own innovations to the family legacy and set out to develop a gin with a distinct Mediterranean character, using regional botanicals and flavors that capture the essence of the region.

With ambitious plans for their Mediterranean Gin, the brothers recognized the importance of effective marketing to reach a broader audience. To achieve their goals, they joined forces with Global Premium Brands, a spirits group with expertise in packaging and marketing. In this collaboration, the shares of the company were divided equally (50/50), allowing the Giró brothers to focus on their passion for distilling while Global Premium Brands handles the branding, packaging, and marketing aspects of their gin.
